  Diaoda    a type of rankou also called as “baize diaoda” handlebar moustache upon the upper lips with a strand of beard in the chin.  This is a perfect fit for humorous characters, such as Wan Jiacun from The Joys of the Fishing Folks, Zhuge An from  Pavilion of the Colored Clouds ; Diaoda is also used by misbehaved Fu and Chou roles, such as Tang Qin from  A Handful of Snow  and the local constable in  Fifteen Strings of Cash.

(短满,二涛又称“二涛髯”,简称“二涛”)  Duanman is divided into three types according to its color- heiduanman(black), huaduanman(grey), and baiduanman(silver). The old monk from  Haotian Tower  wears baiduanman, (sometimes grey too). Zhaoli in The Story of the Rosy Pear wears heiduanman. Duanman is also used by soldiers and male attendants, and both positive and negative roles.
